For more than a decade, HorseSense has been blessed with a place to call home. Because of the extraordinary generosity of those who opened their property to us, hundreds of individuals have found growth, healing, confidence, and belonging through our program. The impact created during this time will continue to shape lives for years to come, and it stands as a testament to what a compassionate community can achieve together.
Today, HorseSense enters a new season.
HorseSense is now planning for a relocation to a new facility that will sustain and strengthen our work for years to come. We make this transition with both humility and hope. This transition marks an important and pivotal moment in our organization’s journey. While programming pauses briefly so we can focus fully on this change, our commitment to the individuals and families we serve remains unwavering.
Moments of transition also bring challenges. As we prepare for the future, we must sustain essential operations, retain the dedicated staff who make this work possible, care for our beloved herd, and secure the foundation of our next home.
The strength of HorseSense has always come from the community that believes in the power of this work. With your support, we can carry forward the mission that has meant so much to so many and ensure that the life-changing impact of HorseSense continues for years to come.
Relocation is a large undertaking and this is what the numbers tell us:
- Paused programming will result in approximately $47,000 of revenue (that's on the low end)
- $34,000 will retain our staff while programming is paused during the summer
- $15,000 covers horse boarding at our new location for the first several months while we settle in
- There are over $15,000 in ongoing expenses that must be paid while we pause (this includes insurance, ongoing horse care, etc)
These numbers do not include unexpected expenses, the cost to physically move everything, and much more.
