This Independence Day, as we celebrate freedom, we are also honoring the people who've fought to protect it-our local veterans and their families.

According to the 2023 U.S. Census, more than 7,300 La Crosse County residents are military veterans. These are our neighbors, friends, and family. At HorseSense we are proud to stand besides them through out HorseSense for Heroes Program.

This program offers more than just riding lessons. It is a chance for veterans-and their loved ones-to reconnect, heal, and grow through the quiet strength of a horse. Some come to work through PTSD in a calm, non-judgmental space. Others regain mobility, rebuild trust, and simply share meaningful time with their families at the barn.

Your impact goes beyond just the saddle. Riders often experience better balance, coordination, and motor skills. Many also show improved focus, communication, and decision-making -- along with a boost in self confidence and independence. Families have the opportunity to connect in new way and build a relationship through a new and unique activity. All of this is made possible by donors like you and we need your support to continue this life-changing program.

Will you help us strengthen our community and give back to those who gave so much?

“As the founder of Logistics Health Incorporated, which is focused on giving back to our Service members and Veterans through providing the best in health care, I know too well the limits of our modern medicine. There is pain our Veterans endure, which could never be cured with a pill or prescription, no matter how hard we try. However, there is a solace, a comfort that companionship with horses offers that goes beyond anything that can be provided in a clinician's ofce. HorseSense provides an invaluable one-of-a-kind service to Veterans in our region, and I'm hopeful you will give careful consideration to endorsing their HorseSense for Heroes program for Veterans.”
